The big 3-0 celebration
Scouring all over New York City, I decided to have the bash at pod 39 hotel with an awesome rooftop and for my guests to enjoy tacos and drinks at the hotel attached restaurant, Salvation Taco, to also commemorate Cinco de Mayo since my birthday is on the 4th. (Double the festivities!) I wanted to entice guests with the simplistic shape of the taco, so I decided to make 3D tacos as part of the pop-up birthday invitations. Also, the architecture of pod 39 hotel's rooftop has these awesome arches as if they were some sort of monument or ruins atop a NYC skyscraper.
To do my research to confirm and ensure that the birthday party venue is legit, (and a possible wedding venue), we took a drive north of the city to visit The Cloisters for inspiration. On the way back home, we drove back through Manhattan and stopped by pod 39 hotel to check it out for the first time and taste-test the tacos, of course.
