Happy New Year! to those I have not greeted yet. A long awaited update for work I
have not shown yet. Here is what I have been up to at Serimony and personal projects I've been working on. Enjoy and please let me know what you think :)

Revisited

An engaged bride visited the store one weekend with a special request, a wacky custom
Save the Date invitation with illustrations of Wind in the Willows characters, a Revolutionary War theme in a Boston harbor setting. What concluded were illustrations of their favorite animals, (and mine)...seals-Harbor seals.

The delightful couple decided to take elements and details from their Save the Date
and showcase the harbor seals illustration on their Wedding Luncheon invitation
in black and turquoise letterpress inks with a fun magenta polka dot envelope liner.

Illustrated, digitally colored in photoshop and layed out a theme inspired
Save the Date idea showcasing the couple's favorite New York City weekly publication.
An excited bride visited the store one weekend with
a theme inspired Save the Date idea showcasing the couple's favorite city weekly publication. They wanted a custom illustration of a view of their part of Manhattan including cities associated with significance of family members coming from all parts of the world and cities they hold dear and memorable.
Alas, a tedious task was developed right on the cusp of a deadline due around the holidays.

Some familiar faces returned with a couple in search of wedding invitations with a custom illustration of their venue
during this visit when they first came in for Save the Dates for their wedding at The Montauk Club in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
This was a great excuse to do some field work and visit
the nearby venue in person to capture some on-site photos for image reference.

illustration and a nickel light gray matching patterned envelope liner of an architectual detail of the venue's columns.

A commissioned hand drawn custom portrait in the vein of a fashion illustration
of a couple holding hands walking on the beach. The couple was intrigued and inspired by my wedding gown illustration for a bridal shower invitation sample.
A commissioned illustration of The Loeb Boahouse in Central Park
What a great and crazy day! Doug & I pulled off a "down-to-the-wire" home-cooked dinner for our friends: Eric & Shannon and their 2.5 year old insanely adorable & comical daughter Emma. THEN...this lovely sample arrived in my mailbox!! #mgnstudios

About Me

My photo
Pronounced (mahr-CHEH-la) with an invisible H. An observer, I see things that people do not always seem to capture in their initial glance unless intently watching and factoring in every analytical detail. When certain events occur before my eyes, I hold on to selective moments in fear that the moment might not happen again. Drawing inspiration from memories, dreams and revolving elements in daily life, I aspire to express a themed set of pieces based off this notion with interrelated characters, whether made-up or inspired by significant individuals. Raised on wanderlust and all made possible by a dynamic duo of a masterminder music aficionado of the turntables that keeps the dance floor, of all the young at heart, rockin’ ‘til the early morn with impeccable penmanship and the eye to be dapper debonair paired with his renaissance counterpart of whom shines with creativity and multi-talented brilliance that can fashion anything out of everything that she sets her mind to.
